We will gladly accept you with open arms, but first... what is your name?"[/style]
The door handle turned slowly and opened. A boy semi-athletic looking boy, standing about 6 foot 1' and weighing approximately 145 pounds took a couple of steps in with his shoulders slumped nervously. "Hello... I'm Elijah. Elijah Mason Waters."Eli introduced himself, biting his lower lip. After a few awkward, silent moments, he spoke again. "Oh...There s more?" he questioned himself, shifting his awkward stance slightly. "My birthday is February 14th- Valentine's Day. I'm seventeen years old." he nodded slightly. Eli took a few more steps into the office and took a seat in front of the dean. A hand reached up and played with his medium brown, messy hair as his piercing blue eyes looked at the dean for further instructions of what to say.

Now, before we can accept you, we must know what your records are. Can you tell them to me, please?"[/style]
Elijah sighed softly and looked down to his lap. "Well... I'm not exactly what you call a star student or an impressive young man." he chuckled sheepishly. "First of all, I'm straight..." Elijah said softly, looking to the side a bit. "I was born an raised in Las Vegas. My family is...kinda shameful really. I don't like to talk about it." he admitted, looking at the dean once again. "I suppose I have to tell you. My mom was a hooker. My dad was a bartender and a gambling addict. Heh, it makes sense, you know. It's Vegas after all. My parents didn't get along well. Arguments, fighting...hitting..." he cringed a little. "You get it... "
Elijah flipped his hair, regaining his composure. "With that messing me up- you know, living in a home with abuse, bad parents and unhealthy influences, I got into some trouble. I've never received a grade in school above a C. By the age of 14, I was in juvenile hall for destruction of property, theft, trespassing and battery." he looked up with a guilty expression on his face and ashameful look in his eyes. "It was for a good reason though- the battery. Some kid as school had hit his girlfriend. I hate abuse. You never hit girls. So I went to the guy and hit him...a couple times. You know, trying to teach him how it felt to be helpless. His parents were rich. They pressed charges for a brokem nose." he shook his head.
"In the detention center, I had more frequent..'episodes'- almost always at night. Until a few months ago- I had one clear out of the blue during lunch. After that, dudes in black suits took me and took me here. Elijah concluded.
{style=width: 501px; background-color: 141414; font-size: 10px; padding: 5; font-family: garamond; color: 7a6252; text-transform: uppercase; text-align:justify; letter-spacing: 1; border-top: 10px solid #0f0f0f; border-bottom: 10px solid #0f0f0f;}"Fascinating. Seeing as you'll be on the campus of Ashes, we must know what your personality is like. Are you gifted?"[/style]
Elijah broke into a fit of laughter. "Gifted? More like cursed!" he shook his head, forcing himself to stop the unreasonable laughter. He sighed and looked straight at the dean for the first time. "I discovered what I could do when I was young. I always thought it was nightmares since they always happened at night... But they always came true. After a while, I put the pieces together. These frequent 'episodes' weren't just coincidences. I could see the future." Eli shrugged, looking down once more.
"You should know something about how I see the future. People in movies or books just claim they see it. Just see it. That's not how it works for me. It's like I'm sucked into a first person view. I'm actually in the visions. I feel what they feel, emotionally and physically, I taste that they taste, hear what they hear... I hate it. he finished quietly, looking up silently for a minute.
Elijah took a deep breath in. "Anyways, people think I'm scary or whatever because of my record. I'm not. I kind of think I'm sweet." he smiled softly as he played with his hands. "I like cuddling, watching movies, hugs, cute animals and stuff like that. I also like jogging, occasionally playing sports and laughing." Elijah smiled his striking smile. Gradually, he was warming up and the nervousness was leaving him. "I think I'm kinda of stupid though. No matter how hard I try in school, I just end up not understanding or failing. And I think I'm over protective. Maybe a bit agressive too. And stubborn... he began rambling. He caught himself before he could totally tear himself down.
"I hate guys who hit girls. I hate abuse in general. It's horrible. I hate my 'gift'. I hate planes. I hate the dark. I hate night time. Oh my god! My biggest pet peeve are those snobby, stuck up kids. They're so lucky to be smart, or to have a good home or to have money. They don't need to go around bragging about it. Elijah concluded fiercely before looking at the dean again. He sheepishly grinned and settled himself into a more relaxed position.
{style=width: 501px; background-color: 141414; font-size: 10px; padding: 5; font-family: garamond; color: 7a6252; text-transform: uppercase; text-align:justify; letter-spacing: 1; border-top: 10px solid #0f0f0f; border-bottom: 10px solid #0f0f0f;}"Brilliant! When you come to Ashes, it is very easy to get mixed up on what you want to do later in life. Let's clear up that confusion now while we have the chance. What would you like to do in the future?"[/style]
Elijah looked blankly at the dean's desk. Personal achievements? Not many. Not really any at all. Dreams and goals? He didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. "Honestly..." he began quietly, trying to think a bit more. "I hope that in the future, I do something good with my life and help people. Even though I think I messed up a bit too much already." Eli admitted quietly. He never thought of his future- he had always been too over-whelmed seeing other people's futures and then dealing with the present for himself. "But before that, I need to control my power. It's haywire right now. It always has been. And I want to get smarter. I want to make myself be a better person." he finished, staying silent after that and staring at the dean.
