Well, then. My name is Merideth Charleston and I will be your boss. To start off this dandy interview, what's your name?" [/style]
nichole blinked despite not being able to see it was still an old reaction from when she did have her sight. With a hand outreached as the guard that had lead her in let her go before she was actually close to any seats. “um, yes.” she stumbled her hands finding the back of the chair, she grinned, carefully moving herself around it, so that she could take a seat. “Nice to meet you merideth, i’m nichole parker, nichole natalie parker.” she smiled, crossing her legs and tucking her feet under the chair a little she took a hand and smoothed out her skirt. “i’m applying for a teaching job here. i teach english, and please, yes i’m blind but that has done nothing to inhibit my teaching abilities. if anything it’s made me better. she wanted to make that point clear, yes she didn’t have the ability to see but that had done everything but inhibit her ability to teach, most of the time reading papers was done by her being able to feel the grooves in the paper made by the writing, or oral reports.
she tilted her head, her hand grabbing her brunette locks over her shoulder, and her blue eyes flickered to where the sound of the woman originated from, “i am twenty six, i was born on october sixteenth. i stand around five sevenish.. and well i honestly haven’t been weighed since july but I am pretty sure i'm still around one thirty. she offered a kid smile to her future boss. something that she could tell already was rare in this place.

If you're going to be faculty at Ashes, we have to know we can trust you. What have you done in the past?"[/style]
she thought about her past for a moment, before answering “well, i wasn’t born blind i guess i should start off with that. but i had a pretty boring childhood, nothing major really happened so i will spare you the details.” her childhood had definitely been nothing eventful, she lived a quiet, small town in pennsylvania, she was an only child, her parents had a good marriage and she had plenty of good friends. and there wasn’t much to tell other than that and going to private school, taking violin and piano lessons and being a natural blond. her fingers twirled into her hair for a moment, the smile that was on her lips slowly fading a little as she thought about her life as it progressed. “when i was about thirteen my parents got a divorce, it wasn’t anything terrible i guess, they told me that they just didn’t love each other anymore, which i knew meant that he had cheated and she called him out on it, but that’s not really the point right. well anyway my mother stayed single for about two years after that,” and what a glorious, quiet two years it was for them, the mother and daughter grew rather close but being a teenager nichole still wanted to be around her friends more than her mother and pushed the woman away little bit by little bit. “than she meet this guy that would eventually become my stepdad in six months, and with the stepdad came an older step-brother. eh, we were two teenagers and we lived different lives and had different friends so we never really got close.” she paused, taking a breathe and remember every painful moment of what had happened next in her life, “well when i was seventeen, my mom was a nurse at the local hospital, and she had to work late one night, so my stepdad picked me up from my friends house at the next town over cause i had hung out with her after school that day and my car had died so he needed to drive me home. anyway, he was… piss ass drunk.. and we wound up getting into an accident. i wound up hitting my head a few times cause the car flipped, and i mean i didn’t have any real injuries to my eyes but i apparently did damage to the optical lobe of my brain somewhere during the crash, and from there on i was legally blind.” she shrugged trying to shrug it off as nothing really that big but it was, being only seventeen and having her sight taken from her. of course, what she failed to mention was that her stepfather had died in the accident, and her stepbrother had clung to her, trying to do everything to make sure her life was as comfortable as possible, feeling bad for his fathers actions that resulted in her loss of sight. she also failed to mention that she lashed out horribly at her stepbrother for trying to make things better for her when it was his father who had done it to her and he was trying to make up for what he couldn’t control while also making it harder for her to get used to depending on herself and her other senses to do anything.
shaking her head lightly to remove the memories from her mind she licked her lips. “anyway, i graduated high school top of my class despite the lack of sight, and thanks to help from some lovely gadgets that helped me read at first. i shortly went to college after that, and i originally didn’t want to teach, and i was going for a degree in the arts, but after a suggestion from a girl in my dorm that i had helped with quite a bit of her studies, i was persuaded to get a degree in teaching as well as my license. i taught at the old high school i went to and the other teachers always asked how i was able to prevent the kids from getting distracted and actually get them to pay attention in class, but after being blind for a few years my hearing got heightened and i was able to hear when kids were texting, or having side-conversations, or even trying to sneak out of class. that and i really inspired some of my students with being a blind teacher and all. but i am proud to say, i have yet to have a single student fail any of my classes.” she beamed with pride in herself, she had a little bit of a big head when it came to the fact that she hadn’t had a single student fail.
“as for my sexual orientation, i haven’t had very many actual relationships but i am bi-sexual.” she didn’t falter in the slightest with admitting it, before she had her sight taken away she had never really even thought about it, she just knew all of her friends dated guys so that’s what she should do as well, but it was around her senior year of high school that she had realized that girls could actually date other girls and in college she had spent over half of her freshmen year in a relationship with her roommate. it was also in college that she learned that it was mostly other women that didn’t see her inability to see as a flaw or something that should inhibit a relationship. however after college she never really had a relationship with other women, she didn't really have any relationships. she'd been on a few dates here and there but had never really gotten into anything.

Speaking of lying: what are you like? But, more importantly, are you gifted?"[/style]
a small look of confusion came over her face, what did she have to lie about? it wasn't like she was a blind axe murderer or something. but shaking off that topic she let a faint smile come across her lips "i am not gifted, but it doesn't really matter to me i see the very fact that i didn't die in that car with my stepdad as a gift and thats all i could really hope for." it was the truth, the fact that she didn't die in that car crash with her drunk stepfather was a blessing and she'd always take that gift with a pinch and make every day count. "i am pretty laid back, but i have a sore spot for people treating me differently just because i am blind. i've made it what... nearly a decade without my sight, i graduated high school and college without my sight and i have gone onto to be a successful teacher. i don't need someone treating me like a baby or a porcelain doll just because they can see and i can't." she huffed, ever since losing her sight the one thing she begged for was for people to not treat her like she was handicapped, and she believed everything she had achieved was a good indicator that she was doing a great job of it. "i love to paint and draw, i can't see with my eyes but i do get these images in my mind, and art was always an outlet for me to be able to show other people what i saw, i know its a bit hard to understand but take my word for it, i have talent. oh and like most blinds" blinds being her little nickname for people that couldn't see "like to say, i can see things with my hands, i even read my students papers with my hands. but i don't like to go around sticking my hands in peoples faces and stuff, thats just creepy but some people don't mind it i guess, eh i was just never partial to the method of seeing people with my hands." she pursed her lips to the side for a moment, holding her breathe for a moment as she tried to think as to what else she could say about herself, "i also love to dance, though its embarressing and dangerous seeing as i can't see, i love to have fun, my friends usually tease me about being a twenty six year old teenager cause i like to act like one when i can... i hate alcoholics for the obvious reasons and well... i don't know what else to say that's pretty much me in a nutshell."

If you were to leave Ashes, what would you do with your life? What do you want to become?"[/style]
that was one question she hadn't been asked in a long time, what did she want to do in her life... what could she do wit her life was a much more accurate question, that she usually shot back at those who asked her such a question but seeing as this was her next boss and she didn't have room for jokes or sarcasm she actually thought about it. she shrugged honestly, i would probably move back to my home town and begin teaching there again, maybe i'd starting dating again and i don't know get married, have kids, the whole white picket american dream i guess? it was the best answer she could think of but it was very much the truth of what she would do if she had to.
