Well, then. My name is Merideth Charleston and I will be your boss. To start off this dandy interview, what's your name?" [/style]
the blonde male slowly slipped into a chair, rubbing his temples. "your too loud" he spoke softly, groaning slightly as another searing pain shot through his mind. "a pleasure to meet you merideth" the blonde pursed his eyes, allowing his blue-green speckled eyes to lift themselves, focusing on the dean. his new boss. "apologies" he muttered, waving his hand dismissively and shifting into a more comfortable position. "you are the one who poached me" he begun, taking a far more professional tone "but, i'll entertain you, for now" the male stoof for a moment, stretching to his complete height of six foot one. he was one of the taller members of his family, the eldest in a family of four, he was also the lankiest. he would admit that freely. his build did not allow him to grow many muscles, whilst some slight definition was certainly there, is overall form was nothing too.... 'ideal'. some had even described it as a distinctly model-isk form. "my name is cedron astaroth reimer" the blonde turned, once again looking at the dean when he spoke. "and i am of course, applying for a teaching position in your institution" this was the manner in which cedron always spoke. his voice was laced with a thick british accent - the result of a childhood spent in london, tottenham to be exact. the male raised a hand, bringing it to his face for a closer examination. "i am twenty six years old, born on the eighth of february" he wasn't going to give the year, this lady, his boss should have known at least that.

If you're going to be faculty at Ashes, we have to know we can trust you. What have you done in the past?"[/style]
the male turned away, rolling his eyes. trust? well that was quite a relative term. "i'd rather not speak of it" his voice was low, almost a growl as his hands clenched into fists. cedrons history was hardly sunshine and rainbows. it was a childhood laced with uncertainty and miss communication. "it's in the past for a reason" the blonde ran a hand through his bright hair, making a point of glancing into a window, adjusting stray strands here and there. "i was... adopted" his voice was cautious and calculating, he did not like talking about his family, his parents in particular, so he had always ran with the story of his adoption - it may as well have been anyway. he and his younger sister were forced to fend for themselves most days - daddy was a heavy drinker and mummy lacked a backbone, addicted to drugs. the house was torn apart, cedron and his younger sister had a small section of the living room to themselves, sectioned away by a small curtain (it looked similar to a pillow fort). it was their haven, small and void of privacy, it was at least a place where normality (another relative term) existed. "i have a sister" his voice was barely a whisper, nose crunching up in disapproval. she had gone done the same road as his parents eventually - dosing herself in drugs, alcohol and failing at her education, despite cedron's best attempts to keep her on track. "but i am not aware of who - or where she is" another lie, but again it was for the best. he didn't like this information surfacing - he was sure the dean would understand.
"i am the only individual, known to me, in my family to ever attend university" that much was a given, generally the sons and daughters of the adopted, back in his home country, were of the uneducated and unsuited parents, some were even plucked from disjointed homes at a young age in the hope that it would stop the cycle and give them a chance. cedron and his sister, well, they weren't one of the lucky ones. the blonde ran away from home aged twelve, barely pulling himself together enough to grab food and provide shelter for himself and his sister. "i moved out of home at a young age for the sake of sanity, and to lift the burden my adoptive parents had" the idea was to pull his sister away from that sort of life, only she fell right into it. exposed to drugs and obnoxiously strong amounts of alcohol when cedron was busy in school, studying and determined. the male looked up at the ceiling for a moment, holding onto the memory of a young, naive sister - she was four years younger then him. "i uh... i managed to get into liverpool university, on scholarship" he continued after a notably long pause. "originally studying molecular criminology, then biological sciences" he shrugged it off. "i spent my honours years in the research laboratory, to myself mostly" the male pursed his lips, chuckling to himself. sadly, his university years, that spent inside that lab, were his fondest. "i finished by degree after a long and trialing five years, gaining my doctorate only two years ago" he gave the dean a smile, but notably proud smile "and i have been lecturing at the university since, completing some research tasks on the side" the male once again smoothed back his hair, eyes flickering outside into the distance. my, was this change of pace going to be hard, dealing with teenagers will be the death of him.
"as for my sexual orientation" he spoke, raising an eyebrow "that is none of your business" the blonde frowned. personally he had no idea what team he batted for or whom he liked. it had not been an interest for him for a while, not since one year ago in new york. a vacation with his best friend turned awry. he took a deep breath, thinking to himself. he had to be straight, one hundred percent, nothing else. it wasn't at all possible or probable for that matter. "i prefer- no i only go for girls" he turned his head up, winking casually at the dean before turning away again.

Speaking of lying: what are you like? But, more importantly, are you gifted?"[/style]
cedron scoffed. sure, he hadn't lied. "gifted?" he questioned, his eyes flickering. "perhaps not the best use of the word... but i suppose so, yes" cedron hadn't believed that the 'gift' bestowed upon him was... anything special or notably helpful. sure, it had given him the ability to pull himself of arguably dangerous situations. but it was dangerous. continual exposure to him, through a light touch of his bare skin would result in something astronomical -something even science failed to explain. "power mimicry or absorption" his voice was soft, his brow knitting itself together. "at least, it is what i have named it" from what cedron could gather it came one of two ways either through touch of his skin (a reason why he generally walked around in only long sleeve shirts and sometimes even with gloves) and through presence - although this one was random, it only seemed to happen when he was mad or experiencing the stronger emotions. "and i hate it" he whispered, frowning once again. it was an invasive power, although through age and experience he was slowly learning to control it. hell once, he could recall even being able to turn it off completely. "i am not sure how long it lasts - it depends on the exposure - i don't even know if i can absorb multiple... all i can gather is this. once it happens, that person can't use their own power for a while... almost acting like a blocker or a canceller." the rules of his power had eluded him, but through his science he was slowly coming closer to an answer.
cedron was not a person who 'fit into' places. he was more of a traveller - a ghost who wandered through town without contact or a mark. that guy in the corner that everyone just thought was weird, yeah that was cedron. the blonde just raised a brow, eying the female suspiciously before he rattled off a list of likes, dislikes. "cats are my biggest fear, or rather dislike" the male closed his eyes, twitching slightly at the thought of such animals. protectors of the underworld my arse egyptians. "socialising is not my forte... unless, it involves alcohol and a club" he raised his hands defensively. "trigger happy, out there people hardly do it for me". he was slightly more colloquial now, shaking his head - how could they be like that, when there was so much pain in the world? "i cant say my sister would fall into 'dislike'" he spoke thoughtfully "i- dont know her well enough, though i hope one day i shall"he still had a soft spot for the female, though he was far too stubborn and proud to admit that. as for likes his list was simple; partying (believe it or not), mengirls, sex, alcohol and smoking were of his top pastimes and likes. and as for hobbies? well he only really had one; his science. he was an experimenter, enjoying long hours spent in the lab on his research, coming closer to understanding this 'ability' or 'gift' he had.

If you were to leave Ashes, what would you do with your life? What do you want to become?"[/style]
"dreams? i don't really have any dreams" the male pursed his lips, running his hand through his hair. how could he put them into words? seeing his sister live healthily? fixing this damn gift, controlling it, my that would be amazing, perfect even. right now he felt trapped and exposed "look merideth im sorry... i have to be blunt. do i have the job or not?"
