[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 500px; height: 380px; background-image:URL(http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd434/pledgling/aa%20rv/bg1.png); border-left: 10px solid #0f0f0f; border-right: 10px solid #0f0f0f; text-align:justify;] WELCOME TO ASHES ASHES SCHOOL RULES &.running is prohibited in the hallways &.do not disrespect your teachers or your peers &.do not tell anyone you have a gift, or what a gift is or you will be dealt with severely &.males are not allowed into female dormitories and vice verse &.lights out at 10:00pm on weekdays, 12:00am on weekends &.students caught milling in the hallways unattended by faculty will be punished immediately &.no student is allowed to leave the campus without the dean's consent &.no pets or animals are allowed in the school &.do not share any medication given to you with other students &.respect the dress code--shorts must reach your knees, you cannot show your shoulders or your midriff &.no drugs, alcohol, or illegal substances are allowed on school grounds unless prescribed to you by the school nurse &.the use of gifts are prohibited unless you are instructed to do so by a faculty member &.cellphones are not permitted &.do not be tardy for class &.food, except cafeteria food, is prohibited &.failure to comply with these rules will result in an immediate escort to the detainment sector SITE RULES &.be nice everyone on the board, even guests. registered members are our friends. be social! post with new members even if you've never posted with them before. &.this is what is needed to keep this place in check. respect them, they're members too. if you do not, you will be banned for a short period of time. if you persist this, i will ban your ip from the website completely. &.the way our website works, we sign up one account per character. staff may have one account for all their staffical means. keep in mind staff, that you will not have godly powers on your character accounts. if you have two characters on one account, we will ask you to fix it, and if you do not, we will delete it. &.absolutely not. if you use chat speak anywhere on the site other than the chat box, you will be punished. your post will be asked to be modified, and if it is not, it will be deleted. &.these will be handled gingerly. subjects like race, sexuality, politics, and religion will not be segregated. by proboards tos, you are not allowed to make fun of someone because of their race, sexuality, politics and religion. if you do, you will be talked to and asked to stop. if you persist, we will report you. note: it is also illegal within the 50 united states to segregate between anyone. one, it's absolutely stupid. two, it also violates rule one. &.we're not saints on this website, or in real life. we'll allow you to swear in-character. however, out of character, try your best to keep it to a minimum. &.yes, yes, you may have an avatar and signature for your characters, however, you must keep the pixels in a certain area. avatars, for the time being, are 150 x 200. signatures are 500 x 300. you can be below these, but if you're anywhere above this, i will ask you to fix them. if you fail to do so, i will remove them myself. &.when you join, i'd appreciate it if you used your character's name as your username. make sure it's all in lowercase, and no symbols. &.when you post, i'd also appreciate if it had little to no symbols. the standard brackets [] is fine, but nothing more than that &.if you need to leave and go somewhere for a significant amount of time, or you're leaving altogether, please consult the hiatus board. &.activity checks aren't normally used. they will be used, however, if there is an obscene amount of people not logging into their accounts on a day-to-day basis. fifteen days without logging in is a warning. within a month, the account will be deleted. &.if you are new to the site, you have one week to post an introduction for yourself in the about you board. if you do not do this within a week of posting your character, we will delete your account and move your biography into the vault. &.if you are not thirteen or older, please do not join this site! albeit, we only support pg-13 (so please, no sex or inappropriate subjects on the site), you must be thirteen or older to join these forums by proboard's rules. proboards is our provider, we must abide by their rules as well. ROLEPLAYING RULES &.as said before, you are allowed one character per account. this means you will be making new accounts for each character. &.please, please, please use the character template provided for you. we have worked hard to make it look beautimus and if you do not use it, you will be asked to fix it, or your application will not be accepted. &.gary and mary sues will be dealt with. no one is perfect. some might seem perfect, but they are always conflicted and twisted on the inside. You will be asked to fix your character if you do this. &.no power-playing, no god-modding. power playing example: "gary punched mary, but she dodged it. gary aimed a kick at her, but she dodged that as well. ehen the fight was over, gary was covered in bruises, but mary was perfectly fine." god-modding example: "gary punched mary in the face and she didn't dodge because she was too slow." power playing is simply not cool. your characters will get hurt in battles and will have scars, bruises, wounds, etc. from it. god-modding is simply not fair. you must let the other person control their character. if any of this happens to you, report it to a staff, and we will talk to the person. &.literacy is a must. we are a literate site and we don't do well with bad grammar. period. proboards provides a spell check and I expect you to use it like a big boy/girl. you could also write in word, if you prefer. we also would enjoy it if you punctuated. i've seen many, many posts with people who don't like to punctuate (not using capitalization or quotes [so long as there is a color difference] is fine). it's very annoying. all posts on the website that are in-character must be 200 words or more. i, personally, will not go around counting everyone's posts, but if i do come across (or if you do and report it to a staff member), your post will be deleted. iou must give your roleplaying partner something to work with. describe a tree if you need to, just give them something to work with. i have also added a word count to the table. it's right above the chatbox. just paste what you have and hit 'calculate'. &.you are not permitted to roleplay until your character's biography has been accepted. if you do, your post will be moved or deleted until it is accepted. &.you have about one (1) week to write your biography. it's simply easier to put it in word (and if you don't have word, notepad) and save it when you want to work on it. if you do choose to post it on the site, however, and you have to leave, please put a [wip] (work in progress) sign on it. Please title your character's biographies with "first middle last." if you do not, you will be asked to fix it, or your application will not be accepted. once you are done, please put [done] so the administration knows. &.post titles aren't so hard to make. if you want your post to be accessible to everyone, put the tag [open] on it. If you want it closed to a certain someone, put [name]. also, if your post has more blood and gore than regular posts, please warn it in the first post so someone doesn't come in and get scared. to add to that, sex is not allowed on the forum. if you do that, we can get banned and no one wants that, right? &.for in-character chatboxes, please put your first name in lowercase. no uppercase, nothing else but your name. treat this like a regular chat box! no actions, just speaking, please. &.if you have any questions, please pm me. thank you for reading these! i hope you enjoy your stay on ashes ashes.
